Beat the Heat 5K

On July 17th, Laura, Kate, Jaime, Anne and Jim's wife Christi all ran the Beat the Heat 5k in Winston Salem. Way to go girl's. This was Laura and Jaime's first race and they did pretty well for first timers. Kate was amazing and was home in bed before any of the rest of us even finished - just kidding, but she was really quick! Anne did great as well and as soon as we finished she said she was ready to do another one. Crazy girl! The race started and finished at the BB&T stadium. At the end they had all kinds of drinks, fruit, energy bars, pizza and sandwiches to replenish us. You would have thought we just ran a marathon. This was a great run and we're hoping the whole class will do it next year, start your training everyone!

Post race rehydrating. See, you get free beer. That has to get some of you out there next year!!

No I don't sweat unilaterally! I spilled water all over me, I haven't mastered the art of running and drinking yet.

Laura's new puppy, Peaches

Our classmate Laura bought a mini goldendoodle puppy and she is the most adorable puppy you have ever seen!! She is seriously so cute! The proud new mommy is having a great time with her. We'll see how focused Laura can be when it's time to hit the books again with sweet, little Peaches around. Worst case she might actually take twenty minutes to finish her exams instead of ten! Just kidding Laura, we all know you will still finish in ten minutes. Congrats on your new puppy!!

Isn't she sweet?!?!

Coming Full Circle

July 15th - 17th, Adam, Carie, Jaime, Anne, Jill and LaShaunda helped out with this year's H3A. It was so fun for us to be in this environment and realize how much we have learned over the past year by seeing ourselves in the new juniors. This is where we were last year at this same time! We all talked about how smart the seniors seemed to us last year and it was funny because the new juniors were saying the very same thing about us. We got a good laugh about it though because we don't always feel so smart! Reliving H3A brought all of those same feelings of excitement yet anxiety and nervousness back to all of us. We may have even added to the juniors anxiety after we discussed our study habits with them....OOPS! We are all so thrilled to have made it through our first and to begin the adventure of our senior year. Congratulations to all of the incoming juniors on their acceptance to an amazing program!
